Matthew Zetumer, M.D., D.F.A.P.A.

Bpd global is pleased to welcome Dr. Matthew Zetumer, M.D., to speak to us about Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP).  TFP is an evidence-based therapy designed for patients with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

Dr. Zetumer received his training in TFP initially at the Psychotherapy Institute in Istanbul, Turkey in a seminar taught by Dr. Otto Kernberg and Dr. Frank Yeomans.  Dr. Zetumer is an Academic Associate of the San Diego Psychoanalytic Institute and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at UCSD. He is in the private practice of psychiatry in San Diego and teaches residents at UCSD.

TFP is a rarity here on the west coast. There are many more TFP therapists in Europe and parts of Canada, where it has been proven to be popular due to its effectiveness in treating BPD.

We hope you can join us as we welcome Dr. Matthew Zetumer, who will speak to us about TFP, a therapy that has ambitious goals; positive change, which is obvious in a person’s functioning as well as satisfaction that the patients themselves gain in relationships and work lives.

Matthew Zetumer, M.D., D.F.A.P.A.
